Junior Tournaments

We run junior tournaments on a regular basis throughout the year to encourage juniors with their tennis and provide them with competition.

Winter Tournament

This runs from September to March and is open to all teen, student and adult members. This is a fun tournament and allows you to play with a number of different partners. All participants are (almost) randomly paired and put into groups.

A match is 2 sets – first pair to win 6 games wins the set. Partners swap after the first set. Each player enters their personal ‘games won’ tally on the score board. Generally the two with the top personal scores from each group are then entered into the semi finals. Finals day in March is often accompanied by one of our famous club barbeques at the Clubhouse.

Summer Tournament

This is a little more serious than the winter tournament with fierce competition to lift the club trophies. The tournaments – Ladies, Ladies Doubles, Mens, Mens Doubles and Mixed Doubles - are run on the traditional knock-out system. The draw takes place in April and the finals are generally played at the end of June with disappointed defeated members watching with a glass or two of Pimms.
